The D. E. Shaw group seeks a skilled associate to join its Management Reporting team within Financial Operations. The team is responsible for delivering high-impact analysis and executive-ready insights to the firm’s senior leadership, with a particular focus on compensation and management company economics. This role provides broad exposure to the firm and supports a range of core operational, reporting, and analytical processes. Responsibilities: Execute recurring compensation, accounting, operational, and reporting activities to ensure continuity across core workflows, including reconciliation, data preparation, and related processes. Contribute to comprehensive compensation modeling, variance analysis, trend reporting, and related senior leader advisory analyses to support planning and business decision-making. Contribute to team initiatives in generative AI integration, process improvement, technology adoption, and automation. Who We're Looking For: A bachelor’s or advanced degree, a record of professional and academic achievement, and at least two years of experience in finance, accounting, operations, or a related field; experience supporting operational reporting, compensation-related processes, or accounting workflows is a plus. Keen attention to detail, organizational ability, and reliability, with the capacity to learn quickly. Comfort working across a mix of operational and analytical responsibilities, including Excel-based analysis and reporting, with sound judgment and a proactive mindset toward anticipating team and stakeholder needs. Excellent communication and project management skills, including demonstrated ability to manage high volumes of work, complex transactions, and competing priorities with accuracy and composure. High ethical standards and the ability to exercise discretion with confidential information. The expected annual base salary for this position is $120,000 to $160,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
