The D. E. Shaw group seeks a motivated and highly organized project manager to join its Human Capital Analytics and Products (HCAP) team. HCAP manages a rich combination of proprietary systems, third-party products, and internal compensation processes. The role provides the opportunity to partner closely with leaders in Human Capital and across the firm, contributing to impactful projects in a collegial and engaging work environment.
Responsibilities:
Curate and leverage employee data to answer operational and strategic talent questions for leaders across the business.
Manage cross-functional compensation projects and processes, partnering with internal developers to expand and improve the systems that house this data.
Own relationships with stakeholders across the firm and share responsibility for project planning, stakeholder management, backlog grooming, and user support/troubleshooting.
Conduct ad hoc analyses to answer compensation-related questions, collaborating closely with colleagues across Human Capital and related teams.
Scope open-ended projects, conducting discovery to understand user needs and creating cross-team workflows and products that facilitate them.
Who We're Looking For:
A bachelor’s degree or higher with at least seven years of relevant experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort engaging with executive stakeholders.
A knack for problem solving, an aptitude for translating the needs of non-technical users into technical requirements, and the ability to see how small details interrelate and impact the bigger picture (i.e., systems thinking).
Proficiency in Excel is required; proficiency in technical writing, process mapping, process re-engineering, and data modeling is a decided advantage.
Interest in generative AI and a desire to use it to improve and reimagine tools, workflows, and deliverables.
The willingness and ability to dive into details, collaborate effectively with teammates who have varying technical knowledge, drive projects to completion, and exercise extreme discretion with confidential information.
Experience project managing complex software implementations with multiple stakeholders is preferred.
The expected annual base salary for this position is $170,000 to $220,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
