About the Role:
Our APAC Python team sits at the intersection of trading and business — we build data pipelines, post-trade infrastructure, analytics platforms, and middle-office systems used daily. You'll work on problems that matter, ship production code, and collaborate directly with trading desks, operations, and teams across the firm.
Responsibilities:
-Python is our primary language, carrying a wide scope:
- Data pipelines — Develop and maintain ETL pipelines that source, normalize, and deliver vendor, tick/bar, and trading data. Ensure data regularity across millions of records daily using Python, Kafka, MySQL, and ClickHouse
- Business-specific infrastructure — Build trading platforms that support new businesses and markets. Deliver solutions enabling strategic initiatives and efficiency
- Post-trade analytics — Partner with business teams to perform stats analysis on trading performance. Build anomaly detection, model exchange behavior, quantify infrastructure changes
- Post-trade systems — Build and operate the framework that processes every trade: clearing, reconciliation, fee computation, position management, PnL. Parse broker files, enrich trades, compute fees across dozens of markets. We’re migrating core to Rust
- Production ownership — Debug real incidents, trace data, fix root causes. Build, run, own it
Profile:
- Write clean, production-quality code; take pride in doing it right
- Rigorous with data—dig into large datasets, don't accept easy conclusions
- Self-driven, proactive; push through ambiguity
- Strong collaborator across teams—trading, operations, finance, engineering
- Comfort in fast-paced environments where priorities shift
- Genuinely curious about systems, markets, data flows
- Use AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) to speed up—and know when to trust outputs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar
- Proficient in Python, hands-on production systems
- Comfortable with Linux—command line, debugging, bare-metal
- Strong essentials: data structures, algorithms, system design
- Solid debugging skills; navigate unfamiliar code quickly
Bonus/Good to Have:
- Kafka or pipeline tooling
- Statistics or data analysis background
- Rust or C++ experience
- Competitive programming background
- No finance or trading knowledge required—we'll teach you
